The purpose of my book is to create a more modern and interesting
approach to the tedious task of learning to read music. Beginning studentsrealize
the importance of being able to read music, and desperately want to learn,
but traditional method books on the market can be boring to students.
By using excerpts from modern rock and roll songs, I have made
theprocess of learning to read music much more enjoyable for students while
still incorporating the fundamental skills such as rhythm, technique, theory,
and chord reading exercises.
